Type Training Courses
Type Training Courses are addressed to Aircraft Maintenance Technicians certificated, it means, to holders of A, B1, B2 and C Categories Aircraft Maintenance Licenses.
These courses enable the trainees to exercise certification privileges on a specific aircraft type or aircraft component allowing the rating of the aircraft or of the component to the Aircraft Maintenance License. Upon conclusion of a Type Training Course, holders are able to include in a Part-145 organisation as Certifying Staff.
The training programs of the different theoretical and practical Type Training Courses are developed in accordance with what is set out in Part 66 of the EASA.

Level I
Type Training: Level I - General Familiarisation
The purpose is to provide technical basic knowledge in a particular aircraft. This training level can be attended by any category/subcategory technician, however, the Level I training intended mainly to technicians with an Aircraft Maintenance Licenses - C Category, after they have already attended a Type Training Course Level III.
Type Training Courses - Level I (General Familiarisation) undertaken by LASFORMAÇÃO-MTO, are characterized as:
Theoretical Training: 30h.
Practical Training: Training Level I does not include practical component.
Level III
Type Training: Level III – Line and Base Maintenance
The purpose is to provide technicians with detailed description operation, component location, removal/installation and bite and troubleshooting procedures to maintenance manual level.
Level III courses are addressed to holders of B1, B2 or C Categories Aircraft Maintenance Licenses.
Type Training Courses - Level III (Line and Base Maintenance) undertaken by LASFORMAÇÃO-MTO, are characterized as:
Theoretical Training: 160h.
Practical Training: 80h.

Type Training: Differences
The purpose of these courses is to increase the technicians’ training, in a specific aircraft, in which they are already qualified. These courses are in Level II or in Level III.
